Welcome! |
Welcome to joanddave.co.uk! I'm Jo, and my husband Dave set up this domain for us. He's the technical one of the pair. I can generally hold my own, but I'm simply not geeky enough when it comes to computers: if it works, I'm happy.
If you've been to the wedding sub-domain you'll notice that we recently got married. And there are lots of lovely photographs there. (Actually, for most of the day it felt like I couldn't turn around without fourteen cameras going off!)
The City of Glasgow Chorus is performing The Dream of Gerontius by Elgar at the Glasgow City Hall on Sunday 18th of February at 7.30pm. I'll be singing there. Feel free to book tickets -- it'll be a fun day out!
I'm now a physics teacher and very much enjoying it. I've gathered a few resources here.
After almost five years, I've finally qualified for my PhD. Graduation photos are here. My thesis, for those of particularly strong constitutions, is available as a pdf document here. All corrections are done, the university has the specified two hard-bound copies and I got a letter this Christmas allowing me to graduate this summer, July 1st 2006. Doing the PhD was one of the most challenging things I've ever done. But then, hard isn't always a bad thing: they say that what we obtain too easily we esteem too lightly, after all. I'm not sorry I did it: I met some wonderful people and had some fantastic experiences.
A graphic review of Wolves in the Walls, the play by me. I like it.
